If I'm going to post a picture everyday... then I have to take one everyday - right? I didn't take a picture yesterday. Today has just started... so there is still hope for today.
Yesterday I didn't knit... I didn't crochet... so I hope I can get something done tonight.
I did bring my mp3 player today - and am going to walk a bit at lunch. I've got to find some inspiration somewhere to lose some weight. Any thoughts?
It's still early - I may post more again later!
Why am I doing this?
This is just about me... mostly to have a place to post my innermost thoughts (yeah... right...) Just for fun... and friends!

A Picture a Day
I see a lot of blogs that do the "Post a Picture a Day" - so by the end of the year, there is a record of your activities for the year. I kind of like this... but... because I don't have a computer at home right now - my Monday posts may have more than one picture. Let's give this a shot and see how it goes...
Here is my picture for January 1 - Hubble sleeping... this is our routine in the evenings - I sit in my chair with a blanket on my legs, then he crawls up there, curls up and is off to dreamland. Then I take a lot of pictures of him sleeping... he's just so cute!

Today is the start of the legislative session. This is the long session... it should be very interesting. Tonight - chorus also starts back up again. We've been on a break since November... and I'm ready to get back to it.

January 2 - this is of the people waiting at Big O Tires. It was crowded... there were not enough seats. I stood by a display of tires and worked on my granny squares. One lady said to me, "you sure are smart to think to bring something." Smart? I don't know about that... but - I was glad I had it! It was a long wait.

January 3 - Granny Squares. I am enjoying this project very much. I have completed 19 squares so far and have about 10 in various stages. I have found that I like to do a lot of the middle sections, then work on the next round on all of them, then the next round - as opposed to doing one square start to finish. I love the colors... and I love the speed. Now - when it comes time to sew in all of my ends I may be feeling a bit differently!

A New Project
Of course I have to have a new project... I can never have too many going on at one time! This one is a granny square afghan. Now - I remember YEARS ago that I had started one. I would line up my finished squares according to which colors I had used. Then - I got tired of it... and I think I sold the bag of squares at a yard sale. Could I just shoot myself now for doing that? Yes.
I saw this pattern online at the Caron website - where the free patterns are. I did change the colors a bit - I don't care for olive green colors, so I've changed the middle square to a brighter pear color. And - I'm using the Michael's Loops and Threads yarn.
Here is the square - I have actually done 4 of them... only 128 to go. Hmmm.... do you think I can follow this through and complete 132 squares? Only time will tell!

It's time to think about resolutions - and things I'd like to accomplish for next year. I'm sure the standards will remain: lose weight, save money, eat better, read more... but I'm trying to think of something more "special" to do... something like a "Random Act of Kindness a Day" or something like that. I'm open to suggestions if you can think of anything? Also - I see a lot of "25 things I'd like to do before I turn 25" - and then I realize that if I wanted to do something like that, I should have done it before I got so old! It's going to be harder to find something that I'll want to do 51 of :-)
I had a wonderful Christmas - we had a good time, we laughed a lot - and Santa was very good to me. I hope that you had a happy one also.
One more thing - my sister's sister-in-law, Joanna, has been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. She has had surgery to remove part of the tumor and today is seeing the radiation oncologist. My sister is with her at this visit. Please keep Joanna in your prayers.

It's About Time
It's been a long time since I've posted anything... I don't know why. I guess part of it is that I don't have a computer at home anymore, and I can't do this on my phone. So - I'll try to post more... who's reading this? Just me? Anyway...
I found my "resolutions" from last year - and I probably will have mostly the same ones this year: Read more, craft more, give more... I did read about 5 books last year - which was about 5 more than the year before. I have 3 books with me to read during this Christmas week. I think they're all easy reads - so that shouldn't be too hard. Craft more? I did a lot of crafts... not a lot of different things, but a lot of the same thing. I made a lot of hats. Cute hats. Colorful hats. And - I probably will make more. I've made a scarf and am working on my second one... the first time I've ever done cables. Here's what it looks like:

The scarf is not as dark as it looks... it's a really pretty "pear" color...
Give more? I don't know that I was very good with my giving. I will try harder this year.
So - have a Merry Christmas - and I do hope to post more. I read a lot of blogs and am in awe of how good they all are about writing interesting and informative posts. Maybe that's another resolution - be more interesting and informative... ok - we'll check in on that resolution in a month or two and see how it's going :-)

National Anthem
Last night - the Acoustix sang the National Anthem for the NBA Finals game. They did a great job!
Busy weekend ahead - I hope everyone has a good one!

Yard Sale
The chorus yard sale was Saturday and it was a huge success! I think we made more than we have ever made. We had a lot of stuff... and it just kept coming in. Thank goodness we were able to have it in the gym. I don't know if we would have all survived - it was so hot. It was miserable when it came time to tear down and load everything.
When I got home - Hubble didn't meet me at the door. It scared me to death. I yelled for him... and nothing. Then I noticed the front bedroom door was closed... and there he was... just a little "mew"... and then he was attached to my side for the rest of the night. Funny little boy.
This weekend is Alegria - Cirque du Soleil - I'm so excited!
